Calemander is a booking page that also takes the money and holds the slot. For a tutoring practice that means a parent booking for each of their children under one account, a weekly slot booked once rather than every week, a consult you approve before it is confirmed, and tuition charged monthly on your own Stripe account.
General scheduling tools treat the person who filled in the form as the person who is coming. Two siblings in the same class collide under one name, and the register you print says who paid rather than who is in the room.
Calendly’s own community answer, dated 2024-02-19, says it “does not currently support manual confirmations”. A parent picks a time and it is yours, whether or not you teach that subject at that level, so the fit conversation happens after the slot is already gone.
Thursday at four is the shape of the work, but a booking page that takes one appointment at a time turns it into a weekly errand. Tuition then arrives either as an invoice you write by hand or as a checkout at every single lesson.
A guardian is a single contact with student records under them. When they book, they pick which child the lesson is for, and the child’s name is what lands on the booking, the roster and the door screen. Two siblings are two students, not one name booked twice.

Recurring booking is a setting on the lesson type. A parent then books two or more sessions in one go — weekly through to every eight weeks, or the same weekday each month — and any date that clashes with something already on your calendar is skipped rather than double-booked. A lesson type that charges at booking cannot also be recurring.
Plan: Every plan, including Free · Event type settings
A tuition plan charges a payer monthly on your own Stripe account and names which event types it covers; their bookings then go through without a checkout each time. You create the enrollment against the payer’s email and send them the link — there is no public sign-up page, and monthly is the only interval.
Plan: Pro, and it needs Stripe rather than Square · Recurring tuition
Turn the approval requirement on for the consult and the booking arrives held rather than confirmed: the time comes off your public availability while it waits for you, and is released if you never approve it. Ask what you need on the booking form first, then decide.

Connect Stripe or Square and a lesson type can charge the full price or a deposit at booking, or sell a prepaid block of lessons that a parent books against. Discount codes come off at checkout. Calemander takes no cut of what a family pays you.

A group lesson has seats, a per-date roster and tap check-in on a phone. When a full class frees a seat, standby offers it to the next family on a timer and promotes whoever accepts first. At a studio with a front desk, a paired tablet runs check-in at the door.
Plan: Sessions, rosters and tap check-in on every plan; standby and automatic close-out on Pro; pairing a door screen on Studio · Check-in and door screens
A lesson studio’s live booking page: an intro lesson, a weekly standing slot and monthly tuition, in the shape a tutoring practice would use it. Nothing is saved and no card is charged.

Studios ask for these and we do not have them. Several are ordinary in software built only for lessons, so read this list before you move a practice across.
Start on Free: 1 member with 3 active event types, and payments, deposits, prepaid packages, family accounts, approval holds and email reminders are all on it, with no card and no time limit. A tutor teaching alone can run a whole practice there. Pro is $12/seat/mo, billed per seat, and is what you move to for monthly tuition billing, text reminders, automation rules, standby on a full class, a second teacher, or your own booking domain.

Yes. The approval requirement makes a booking arrive held: the time is off your availability while the request waits for you, and released if you never approve it.
Yes, on Pro and through Stripe. You create a plan with a monthly amount and the event types it covers, then send a payer the enrollment link. Covered lessons book with no checkout. Monthly is the only interval, and the plan matches on the payer rather than on each child.
Nothing, unless a Pro feature is what you need. Free holds one member and three active event types, and payments, deposits, packages, family accounts and approval holds are all included on it.
Free has no time limit and needs no card, and a tutor teaching alone may never need more. If you are coming from Calendly, read the migration guide first — it names what the importer cannot bring across.
